Finally got around to watching Her.

Technology to me doesn’t exist in the form of a female, but I fell in love because it has done for me what I’d expect falling in love with a woman would do. Make me a better human being.
That being depicted in a literal sense was something that was wild for me to see - and think about.

Weapons of mass creation

Most tech folks will tell themselves anything they need to, to convince themselves in the greater good of what they’re building. And that is good to a certain extent. But, my fear is that by refraining to accept the reality of the situation will result in the ramifications from what we create to be mishandled.

Parallel to product.

Every object in the physical world that we see and touch is the manifestation of problems, thoughts, and collaboration. You see a door knob and I see adversity, creativity, experimentation, failure, determination, will, hope, desire, care, love, empathy, success.

The Quantified Dog

I recently heard of this startup, Whistle. They are after the data your dog generates with the intentions of mining insights by plotting trends based on the data left behind.

Founding teams

To build a solid founding team the founder needs to solely recruit individuals that they’re comfortable giving complete control over what they were brought on to do. In order to give someone complete control of something you need to not only know what you are not good at, but be able to identify that talent in others so that their contribution can be optimized.

Early Stage Investing

The beauty of a competitive ecosystem is that power tends to ultimately be somewhat distributed. The option to be selective is a privilege that is earned — and whether you are the entrepreneur or the investor, your ignorance to the fact that you are not yet in a position to be too selective will likely prevent you from ever being in a position to legitimately do so.

We're no longer fighting for food - we're hunting for love.

There was once a time when our ancestors had to fight for food as a matter of life and death and an ego was a necessity to live. You needed to believe that there was nothing that can stop you and the environment then was conducive to such an attitude and ultimately worked in their favor. It was an environment where an ounce of fear, doubt, vulnerability and empathy could likely literally end your life.

That metaphor being art...

Art in a literal sense is a form of expression. Expression is any means to communicate a message, whether explicitly or not. However, explicitly speaking is the most efficient means of communication so in order to express yourself without the need of speech requires creating something that is so beautiful that inspires a desire to go back in time for further understanding of how something came to be in order to decipher the message being conveyed.

And the Grammy Goes to...

The past couple years the Grammy’s to me have been lackluster. When you witness greatness and talent at it’s best, you’re supposed to admire the fact that their dreams have come true because you feel that they are deserving. That admiration along with the realization that someones dreams that they wished for their entire lives was coming true in front of your eyes, typically creates a sensation that gives us the chills.
